Letter, 1787 April 4, Pleasant Valley [N. Y.] to Hendrick Oblenis of Clarkstown [N. Y.]. [manuscript]

Response to Oblenis' letter of March 12th in regards to settlement of a court case between the two parties. Reference is made to a Mr. Vanderbilt of New York City. On the verso, two items related to the case extracted from Westchester County court records - a promissory note dated June 30, 1775, John Duryee promising to pay the sum of fifty pounds on Hendrick Oblenis. Secondly, a note dated May 19, 1790 indicating bond paid to Vanderbilt upon which I was arrested.
